Rams Host Niners on MNF; NFL Notes

(St. Louis, MO) -- NFC West foes are featured on "Monday Night Football" this week as the San Francisco 49ers face the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome. The 49ers are seeking their third straight win after beating the Eagles and Chiefs the last two weeks at home. San Francisco now plays four of its next five games on the road. The Niners are 3-and-2 overall. The Rams have dropped their last two games against the Cowboys and Eagles to fall to 1-and-3. St. Louis fell behind 34-7 at Philadelphia before a furious rally fell short in the fourth quarter. The Rams were swept by the 49ers in their season series last year.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The New York Giants will be without wide receiver Victor Cruz for the rest of the season. He tore his patellar tendon during New York's 27-0 loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia.  width=Cruz was carted off the field in the third quarter. He had 21 catches for 321 yards and a touchdown coming into Sunday's game.

(Orchard Park, NY) -- New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley is facing a major knee concern. NFL.com reports Ridley suffered a torn ACL Sunday and will undergo an MRI on Monday. Ridley has 317 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Pats also lost linebacker Jerod Mayo to a knee injury during the game.

(Cleveland, OH) -- Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack may be done for the season. NFL.com reports Mack broke his left leg during the second quarter of Cleveland's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. He was carted off the field. Mack has started every game of his NFL career dating back to 2009. He was selected 21st overall out of California in 2009.
