Douglas County authorities say at least one person has been hospitalized and a horse has been fatally injured after a crash involving a buggy and two other vehicles.
According to reports, Douglas County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Peter Buckley said Tuesday the accident happened Friday near Arthur. Buckley says a GMC truck swerved and it a Jeep, and one of the vehicles hit the horse-drawn buggy.
The buggy was flipped onto its roof with its wheels smashed. Buckley says the horse was mortally wounded and a veterinarian had to euthanize it.
Buckley says a person went to a hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening. He says a ticket was issued to a 21-year-old Ashmore man for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
