Mount Zion has unveiled a new 15-foot-tall sign meant to welcome commuters driving along the highway to the village.

It's part of a year-long rebranding initiative launched by the Mount Zion Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corp. to reflect the area's growth in population, business and industry. The sign features the village's new brand and logo.

Reports indicate Mayor Don Robinson explains the new brand shows the village is growing and working to continue moving forward.

Different colors of the logo have been adopted by the village, chamber and EDC. Robinson says the logo shows the three groups are working toward the same goal in different ways.

The new village motto is "build your story here."

The village plans to update its website this winter.
