>>NBA GMs: Spurs To Repeat, LeBron Is MVP

(Undated) -- In their annual survey, NBA general managers believe the San Antonio Spurs will repeat as champions and LeBron James will win his fifth MVP award. League GMs responded to 56 different questions about the best teams, players, coaches, fans and offseason moves. The Spurs are an overwhelming favorite, selected by over 46-percent of the GMs to win the franchise's sixth championship. With the return of James, Cleveland was selected at over 70-percent to oppose the Spurs in the Finals, but are only given a 15.4-percent chance to win it all. width=Milwaukee Bucks first-year forward and second-overall pick Jabari Parker is the front-runner to win the Rookie of the Year. He received 75-percent of the vote, while Minnesota Timberwolves swingman and top overall pick Andrew Wiggins is a distant second at less than 18-percent. Reigning NBA Coach of the Year Gregg Popovich was voted for best coach at almost 93-percent, while first-year Brooklyn Nets coach Lionel Hollins and the Chicago Bulls' Tom Thibodeau [[ THIB-uh-doe ]] were the only others to even receive votes.

>>NBA Owners Reject Draft Lottery Reform

(New York, NY) -- Despite an effort to reform the NBA Draft Lottery, the process will remain the same for at least the 2015 NBA Draft. Yahoo! Sports reports the league's board of governors failed to accumulate the required 23 votes needed to push the change through. League owners voted 17-to-13 in favor of the reform, six votes short. The proposed new process would discourage teams from tanking, or losing on-purpose to get better odds in the lottery. The reform would have given the league's four worst teams identical odds of receiving the top pick. Under the current system, team with the worst record has a 25-percent chance at the top pick, while the second-worst team has a nearly 20-percent chance. The league adopted its current lottery system in 1985.
