(Kansas City, MO) -- The San Francisco Giants have won their third World Series title in five years. Michael Morse drove in two runs including a go-ahead RBI-single in the fourth inning as the Giants defeated the Royals 3-2 in Game Seven of the Fall Classic at Kauffman Stadium. San Francisco is the first road team to win a World Series Game Seven since the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates.  width=Jeremy Affeldt got the win. Despite just two days of rest, Madison Bumgarner came on in relief and threw the final five scoreless innings to earn the save. He went 2-and-0 while giving up just one run over 21 innings against the Royals. Pablo Sandoval finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored for the Giants, who earned their eighth crown overall. Sandoval set a Major League record with 26 postseason hits. At 39, Tim Hudson became the oldest pitcher to start a Game Seven in the Series. He yielded two runs in just an inning-and-two-thirds.

(Kansas City, MO) -- San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner is the World Series MVP. Bumgarner pitched five scoreless innings in relief in Game Seven of the Giants' 3-2 win over the Royals on Wednesday to earn the save. He also won his two starts during the series, including a complete game shutout in Game Five on Sunday. "MadBum" allowed just one run in 21 innings overall against the Royals and is now 4-and-0 in his career in the Fall Classic with a 0.25 ERA and three championships. The 25-year-old southpaw threw a Major League-record 52-and-two-thirds innings this postseason.
