Blues, Blackhawks Pitch Shutouts

(Newark, NJ) -- Jake Allen stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Blues blanked the Devils 1-0 in the opener of a home-and-home set at the Prudential Center. Vladimir Tarasenko scored on the power play 4:55 into the third period for the Blues, who have ripped off six straight wins. Tarasenko has seven goals in his last five games. Cory Schneider made 22 saves for the Devils, who had won their previous two.

(Montreal, Quebec) -- Kris Versteeg scored twice and Corey Crawford posted his first shutout of the season as the Blackhawks blasted the Canadiens 5-0 at the Bell Centre. Crawford made 28 saves in his 11th career whitewash. Jonathan Toews [[ taves ]] tallied a goal and an assist, while Patrick Kane and Brad Richards also lit the lamp for Chicago, which snapped a two-game skid. Carey Price was tagged with all five goals on 32 shots for the Habs, who have dropped three straight.
