The McLean County coroner says an accountant found dead in her office in Bloomington was shot to death.

Coroner Beth Kimmerling said Wednesday that 53-year-old Pamela S. Zimmerman died of multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Kimmerling, police found Zimmerman in her office on Tuesday after being prompted by a call from someone they described as a concerned friend.

Further details about the investigation were not immediately available.

Kimmerling said Zimmerman was a longtime businesswoman in Bloomington and involved in a number of local organizations. Zimmerman had three high school-age children.
