After Public Forums, Mock of Potential Multi-Use Path Next

Earlier this month, the City of Clinton hosted a community forum to hear from the public on a future multi-purpose path in Clinton.

Just short of 50 people attended and participated in the two sessions and according to Tim Followell, City Administrator for the City of Clinton, they were very pleased with the turn out, as were their architects, the Farnsworth Group.

From an administrators perspective, Followell tried to stay out of the conversation. He feels community members had great ideas and the ideas were diverse.

Now that the first of the community forums have been completed, Followell indicates the architects are taking back all the notes they took, the maps the community came up with and the comments they heard from those in attendance to come up with an original concept of a multi-purpose pathway. That could be presented as early as the first part of next year.

Followell says it is vital the public be involved in the process because they will be the ones to use the path and to fund it.

Followell was pleased with the meeting and looks forward to seeing what the architects come up with after the turn of the calendar year.
