Walmart Praises Workers In Statement

Walmart says Thanksgiving was their second highest online sales day ever, and they are thanking their workers. Walmart released early Black Friday results in a statement Friday morning. In the statement, Walmart senior vice president of merchandising Laura Phillips said-20 million customers went to Walmart.com, and 22-million shoppers went to the stores. She gave credit to the workers for the high customer turnout, saying, "our associates served them with pride," and "our cashiers had nearly every register open."

Frustrated Walmart workers are expected to demonstrate outside hundreds of stores nationwide Friday to call for better wages and schedules. There could be big Walmart protests in cities like Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Chicago and Dallas.
