ACC Dominates Day 3 of ACC/Big Ten Challenge

(Madison, WI) -- Tyus Jones tallied 22 points and six rebounds as the second-ranked Blue Devils dropped the fourth-ranked Badgers 80-70 from the Kohl Center. Duke shot over 65-percent from the floor compared to just 40.7 percent from Wisconsin. Jahlil Okafor added 13 points and six boards for the Blue Devils, who improved to 8-and-0. Traevon Jackson scored 25 points for the Badgers, who slipped to 7-and-1. Frank Kaminsky had 17 points and nine boards in the loss.

(College Park, MD) -- Malcolm Brogdon netted a game-high 18 points as sixth-ranked Virginia topped 22nd-ranked Maryland 76-65 in College Park. Justin Anderson added 16 points and Mike Tobey tallied 14 off the bench for the Cavaliers, who improved to 8-and-0. Melo Trimble posted 16 points to pace the Terrapins, who fell to 7-and-1. Jake Layman had 14 points in the setback.

(South Bend, IN) -- Jerian Grant netted 27 points and Demetrius Jackson scored 22 as Notre Dame knocked off 18th-ranked Michigan State 79-78 in overtime in South Bend. Pat Connaughton and Steve Vasturia added 12 points apiece for the Fighting Irish, who upped their record to 7-and-1. Branden Dawson racked up 16 points and 18 rebounds for the Spartans, who slipped to 5-and-3 with their second straight loss. Denzel Valentine dropped in 22 points and Bryn Forbes had 18 in the setback.

(Chapel Hill, NC) -- Mike Gesell scored a game-high 16 points as Iowa upset 12th-ranked North Carolina 60-55 in Chapel Hill. Adam Woodbury posted 11 points and seven rebounds, while Aaron White had 10 points and eight boards for the Hawkeyes, who improved to 6-and-2 on the season. Kennedy Meeks recorded 15 points and 12 boards to pace the Tar Heels, who fell to 5-and-2. Marcus Paige was the only other player in double figures with 13 points. UNC shot just 27.9-percent as a team.

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Delon Wright's jumper with 14 seconds left lifted Utah to a 69-68 overtime win over 10th-ranked Wichita State in Salt Lake City. The Shockers' regular season winning streak ends at 35. Brandon Taylor tallied 17 points and Wright ended with 13 to go with seven assists and six rebounds for the Utes, who improved to 6-and-1. Jakob Poeltl added 12 points and 11 boards in the victory. Ron Baker netted 15 points while Tekele Cotton chipped in with 14 for the Shockers, who slipped to 4-and-1. Fred VanVleet donated 13 points in defeat.
