Still Time to Adopt for DeWitt County Angel Tree

width=There is still time today to participate in DeWitt County Angel Tree
adoptions for the holiday season.

After 5pm on Tuesday, the angels will be taken down from local
businesses trees. Sue Calvert, with Angel Tree, explains there
have been many kids in need this holiday season. She
encourages anyone wanting to still participate to contact her to
obtain a list.

Calvert notes there has been a great outpouring of support for
Angel Tree this year. Many local youth groups have been a great
source of support also. Efforts such as Angel Tree have left a great
impact on those it has assisted according to Calvert and many
return as adults to give back to their community.

Calvert is grateful for the local volunteers and businesses that make
Angel Tree possible. She adds they have tried to make the
shopping experience simpler for those who adopt by finding other
venues to provide such items as winter wear throughout the year.

Donations to Angel Tree can still be made at First National Bank
throughout the holiday season. Anyone wishing to adopt after
Tuesday can contact Sue Calvert at scalvert13@gmail.com or 309-825-5822.

Dick and Nathan Douglas of Sunset Inn and Suites donated $1000
to the DeWitt County Samaritan Room's Angel Tree.  The Douglas
family have been long time supporters of the holiday program.
