The new DeWitt County Board has a number of challenges on their hands as they take over this month.

Among those challenges is the Clinton Lake Marina. Chair for the Marina Committee Danny Ballenger indicates they were recently slapped with over 60 Americans Disabilities Act violations and now the challenge is making progress before a looming deadline.

According to Ballenger, the upcoming year could be a challenge because the major work will need to be completed and they only have until the end of the next year to get it all done. He notes they have worked closely with the Attorney General's office to come up with a schedule.

Ballenger feels it will be a close fit to get all the projects yet to do finished, but is encouraged by what they have accomplished so far. He adds the committee they have in place is one he feels can move the Marina and the County forward and get things done.
