Blues, Blackhawks Back In Action Today

(St. Louis, MO) -- The Blues begin a home-and-home series with the defending Stanley Cup champion Kings tonight at Scottrade Center. The teams will rematch Thursday night in LA. The Blue beat the Avalanche 3-2 in overtime on Saturday for their fourth straight win. The Kings have lost four-of-five.

(Chicago, IL) -- The Blackhawks host the Wild at the United Center tonight. Chicago is coming off Sunday's 2-1 win over the Flames. Chicago has won nine of its last 10 overall. The puck drops at 7:30.

>>Crews Transform Nats Park For NHL Winter Classic

(Washington, DC) -- How do you transform a baseball field into an ice rink? You bring in a whole lot of ice. Today, crews began the process of transforming Nationals Park in DC into a world class ice rink for the NHL Winter Classic. A mobile refrigeration unit from Toronto arrived this morning. The 53-foot trailer hauled in ice-making equipment to manufacture a massive sheet of ice that will be the centerpiece. The Winter Classic is set for New Year's Day between the Capitals and the Chicago Blackhawks.

>>Ennis, Suter, Lundqvist Earn NHL Weekly Honors

Buffalo Sabres center Tyler Ennis, Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter and New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist were named Monday as the NHL's Players of the Week.

Ennis posted a goal and four assists in three games to earn the First Star.

Suter was the Second Star after registering five assists in three games.

Lundqvist went 3-0-0 with a 1.30 goals-against average and .951 save percentage to collect Third Star honors.
