An instructor for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired is behind bars after being arrested for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. Department of Human Services Spokeswoman Januari Smith says James Strader of Jacksonville cleared a background check prior to being hired.

Strader has been employed at the school since July according to a press release from the Illinois State Police, which had conducted an investigation. He reportedly worked as a rehabilitation and mobility instructor. The investigation is ongoing by state police and the Morgan County State's Attorney's Office. Charges could be filed next week.
