IN ADDITION…GOVERNOR QUINN IS CALLING LAWMAKERS BACK TO SPRINGFIELD JANUARY EIGHTH IN HOPES THEY WILL PASS A LAW SETTING UP A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR COMPTROLLER IN 2016.

THERE’S NO GUARANTEE THE LEGISLATURE WILL APPROVE A SPECIAL ELECTION…AND GOVERNOR ELECT BRUCE RAUNER WILL NEED TO APPOINT SOMEONE TO TAKE THE OFFICE FOR THE NEW TERM ON JANUARY 12TH. BOTH RAUNER AND REPUBLICAN LEGISLATIVE LEADERS HAVE SAID THE GOVERNOR-ELECT’S APPOINTMENT SHOULD LAST THE FULL FOUR YEAR TERM.
