Los Angeles, Missouri Battling Over NFL's Rams

width=A battle is now seemingly underway for the St. Louis Rams. Rams owner Stan Kroenke [[ KRON-key ]] has announced he's partnered with a development group to build an 80-thousand seat stadium in Inglewood, California, just outside Los Angeles. That's led to new rumors that Kroenke will end his lease in St. Louis and move the Rams back to Los Angeles sooner rather than later. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has appointed two business leaders that are set to unveil a proposal for a new stadium for the Rams in St. Louis. Nixon says he'll go to great lengths to keep the team in Missouri.

The Rams are said to be unhappy with their current lease at the Edward Jones Dome and can choose later this month to convert their lease to year-to-year. Talks between Kroenke and Missouri leaders over a new stadium have fallen apart in the past. For Los Angeles, the developer AEG continues to try and find a NFL team that could move to the City of Angels and play in a stadium AEG is proposing to build downtown. The Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers are said to also be unhappy with their stadium leases and are eyeing a possible move to L.A. in the not-too-distant future.
