Piatt County kids interested in reading and discussing literature are encouraged to be a part of a new program through the University of Illinois Extension Office and Allerton Public Library.

Starting February 5, fourth and fifth grade students are invited to Washington Elementary School in Monticello for weekly book discussion groups on Thursday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:30 pm.

Youth will read the same books and discuss them on a weekly basis thanks to the Allerton Public Libary.

Registration is required for the book club, and the deadline is January 29.
