2014 Positive Year for Clinton

 width=As the book has closed on 2014, the leader of the City of Clinton is looking back fondly.

Completed projects and new endeavors highlight the 2014 calendar year for Clinton Mayor Carolyn Peters. She explains the completion of the square renovations was perhaps the highlight to the year for her, as Mayor.

The expansion of Kleemann Road on the west side of US Highway 51 was recently completed, and the Mayor feels, while it took a while, that should provide the community with more opportunities for expansion.

In 2014, Monicals and Jimmy John's opened new locations in Clinton, the Mayor feels their presence in the Douglas addition has been very positive along with the new Richland Community College Education Center.

She also points to starting plans for a new fire station and a multi-purpose pathway as other highlights from 2014.

She feels economic development will continue to be a challenge going forward, but like economic development leaders, she is optimistic 2015 will be a positive year for the business community.
