Local Lawmaker Thinking Positive

 width=Despite having no challenger in last November's election, Illinois lawmakers still had to take the oath of office as a new General Assembly was sworn in earlier this week.

Before family and friends, on local lawmaker says despite the many challenges, the day was meant to be a happy day as State Representative Bill Mitchell today took the oath of office to represent the 101st House district in the new 99th General Assembly.

The budget along with economic development are topics and issues at the top of the list for Rep. Mitchell.

All 118 house members were sworn in at noon Wednesday at Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois at Springfield. The new 99th General Assembly will serve until January 2017.
