Welseyan Drops Road Game To Elmhurst

 width=Illinois Wesleyan's five-game winning streak was snapped in a 76-73 loss at No. 22-ranked Elmhurst on Saturday.

The Bluejays had a 31-30 lead at halftime of the contest that had 10 lead changes and seven ties. IWU's last lead in the game was at 36-33 with 18:57 to play in the game after a 3-pointer by senior Dylan Overstreet.

Senior Jordan Nelson led the way for Wesleyan with 17 points.

Overstreet stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, eight assists and five boards. Sophomore Alex Bausch added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Kyle Wuest led Elmhurst with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Will Nixon chipped in with 12 points as four players scored in double-figures. Bryant Ackerman added 11 points and Erick Crittenden chipped in 10 points.

The Titans are now 13-5 overall and Elmhurst is 15-3 overall with both teams owning 5-2 records midway through the CCIW campaign. The Titans host Wheaton at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
