Palmer Leads Phoenix Open

 width=Ryan Palmer is alone atop the leaderboard at the Waste Management Phoenix Open as play was suspended due to darkness. Palmer fired a seven-under 64 in Thursday's opening round. Tiger Woods posted a plus-two 73 in the first round of his first official event since last year's PGA Championship. Keegan Bradley and Bubba Watson share second place at six-under. Three-time winner Phil Mickelson carded a minus-two and is in a large group tied for 29th. Nine players were still on the course when play was called. They will complete their first rounds on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern, with the second round starting as scheduled at 9:30 a.m.
