Pair of CHS Athletes Sign With Parkland College

width=The Clinton High School Commons was the site of dozens of interested family, friends and faculty for a pair of athletes who made a college decision.

Haley Ginger and Megan Tool signed letters of intent to play college softball at Parkland Community College. The two describe each other as best friends and each say they are looking forward to playing alongside the other next season.

Ginger says she chose Parkland because of the coaching staff and feels it will be a great fit for her academically. Both girls says being close to home meant a lot to them as well.

For Tool, she calls signing day a "weight off her shoulders". She credits the coaching staff as one of her reasons for signing with Parkland.

Ginger has played shortstop and Clinton High School and was recruited to play there at Parkland. She explains she gave up pitching as a freshman to focus on shortstop exclusively.

Tool has been a catcher her whole life and has been the full time catcher since she was a sophomore. She can also play the outfield.
