2015 Budget in Monticello Looking Strong

Starting at the top of the year, Monticello opened up the books on a new fiscal year and the city's leader says things appear to be in good shape.

The focus of the 2015 budget in Monticello will be infrastructure. According to Monticello Mayor Chris Corrie, the budget will resemble last year's quite a bit.

According to the Mayor, street work is going to be a big part of projects this year. Mayor Corrie explains along with street projects, they will also be focusing on extending their bike path and rebuilding their waste water treatment plant.

While this year's budget is in good shape, Mayor Corrie does not see that trend continuing. He explains the budget and priorities for projects around the city was much shorter from year's past.

Mayor Corrie sees major changes coming from the state level as it relates to the funds they receive and feels Monticello, along every community in the state, are going to have to buckle down for rough waters ahead.

We'll have more on the Mayor's thoughts on the future budgeting in Monticello and what he sees the community facing in years ahead.
