>>Shields To Sign With Padres

(San Diego, CA) -- The Padres' wild offseason is rolling on. According to SB Nation, San Diego has signed free-agent starter James Shields. It's a four-year deal with a team-option on a fifth season. The pact is expected to be announced this week. San Diego has also added Wil Myers, Justin Upton, Matt Kemp, Derek Norris and Will Middlebrooks this offseason. The 33-year-old Shields has pitched 200 or more innings in every season since 2007.  width=Last season with the AL champion Royals, he went 14-and-8 with a 3.21 ERA and 180 strikeouts in 34 starts.

>>Reds Extend 3B Frazier

The Cincinnati Reds and third baseman Todd Frazier avoided arbitration Sunday by agreeing to a two-year contract.

The deal is worth $12 million, according to multiple reports.

Frazier, who turns 29 next week, set career highs with 29 homers and 80 RBI while batting .273 in 2014.

The New Jersey native has hit .258 with 73 homers, 82 doubles and 235 RBI in 476 career games, all for the Reds.
