Favre #4 To Be Retired

(Green Bay, WI) -- Retired quarterback Brett Favre [[ Farve ]] is going back to Green Bay this year to be honored by the Packers. He announced on his official website that he will return to Lambeau Field to be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame and also have his number-four jersey retired. A specific date has not been announced. The three-time NFL MVP spent 16 seasons with the Packers and is the league's all-time leader in passing yards. Favre had a bitter split with the Packers following the 2007 season when he changed his mind about retiring after the team had already committed to move forward with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Favre was traded to the New York Jets, where he played in 2008, before spending his final two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings in 2009 and 2010.

(Green Bay, WI) -- Veteran offensive line coach Mike Solari is reportedly coming to Green Bay. Fox Sports reports Solari is joining the Packers coaching staff. Solari has served as O-line coach in San Francisco since 2010. In other coaching news, NFL Network reports head coach Mike McCarthy is handing play-calling duties over to Tom Clements and promoting Edgar Bennett to offensive coordinator.

(New Orleans, LA) -- Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is reportedly working towards playing next season. According to the "Times-Picayune", Manning is training in New Orleans with the intent to play next year. Manning reportedly wants to talk with Broncos general manager John Elway before announcing his intentions for next season. Manning, who will turn 39 next month, would be returning for his 18th NFL season.
