So Far So Good For DJWH Budget

width=348 height=145 />The Doctor John Warner Hospital has found itself under budget during the first portion of 2015.

Monday night's hospital Board meeting noted that January and February have seen a downward trend in spending for the city-owned hospital. Their total hours plus overtime have been reduced significantly according to Interim CEO Paul Skowron. He explains their financial improvement has allowed two hundred-thousand dollars to be placed in other hospital accounts including the capital fund.

[audio:2241565454-22415djwhfinance1.mp3] [/audio]

The hospital is budgeting conservatively as of now due to Governor Rauner's latest budget projections involving Medicaid cuts. Skowron hopes the reduced expenses will also allow them to increase patient volume in the future by possibly hiring a new physician.

[audio:2241565457-22415djwhfinance2.mp3] [/audio]

Other business discussed at Monday night's meeting included the announcement that the presentation of hospital management firms will take place on March 11th at 6pm.

Board President Cindy Saylors was absent for Monday's meeting.
