A representative from Chicago says money for a program meant to combat street crime is drying up to the detriment of her district but the Governor’s office says the budget shortfalls were a making of the previous General Assembly and Governor Pat Quinn.

When asked about the Ceasefire funding, Governor Bruce Rauner’s office said programs across the state are running out of money because the legislature knowingly passed a budget that was unfunded by one-point-six-billion dollars and the Governor is working with the legislature on a bipartisan solution.
