NFL Free Agency Frenzy Continues

>>Eagles Add Murray, Matthews

The Philadelphia Eagles have replaced 2013 NFL rushing champion LeSean McCoy with the winner of last year's rushing title and stole him away from the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys.

DeMarco Murray landed in Philadelphia on Thursday and signed a five-year contract.

The Eagles were in need of a star running back after trading McCoy to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso.

Murray's deal is reportedly worth $42 million and includes $21 million guaranteed. For comparison, McCoy signed a five-year, $40 million deal with $26.5 million guaranteed with the Bills.

The 27-year-old Murray was named the 2014 AP Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for an NFL-best and career-high 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 57 passes for 416 yards.

Earlier Thursday, the Eagles signed veteran running back Ryan Mathews to a three-year contract. Murray and Mathews will join Darren Sproles and Chris Polk in a crowded Philadelphia backfield.

Mathews spent each of his five NFL seasons with the San Diego Chargers, who drafted him No. 12 overall in 2010.

He had two 1,000-yard seasons with San Diego, in 2011 and 2013, but rushed for just 330 yards and three touchdowns in six games last season while dealing with knee and ankle injuries.

>>Colts Waive RB Richardson

Trent Richardson's time in Indianapolis has officially come to an end.

The Colts waived the running back Thursday after two lackluster seasons with the organization.

width=Richardson, a former No. 3 overall pick and All-American out of Alabama, was acquired by Indianapolis in a September 2013 deal that sent a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns.

The move comes as no surprise after the Colts added five-time Pro Bowler Frank Gore to their backfield on Tuesday.

In two seasons with the Colts, Richardson played in 29 games (20 starts) and rushed 316 times for 977 yards and six touchdowns, while also adding 494 receiving yards and a TD catch.

>>Texans Land S Moore

The Houston Texans have signed free agent safety Rahim Moore, the team announced Thursday.

Though terms of the agreement were not disclosed, NFL.com reported the deal to be for $12 million over three seasons.

Moore joins the Texans off a solid 2014 campaign with the Denver Broncos, in which the 25-year-old recorded career highs of four interceptions and two forced fumbles along with 49 tackles. He started all 16 regular-season games for the AFC West champions as well as Denver's playoff loss to Indianapolis.

A second-round pick of the Broncos in 2011, Moore had served as Denver's regular free safety in each of the past three seasons and logged eight interceptions during his four-year tenure with the club.
