Durbin Urges More Funding for Treatments and Cures

Senator Dick Durbin is urging colleagues to invest in medical treatment and research. On the Senate Floor, he urged Congress to make federal funding for agencies like the National Institutes of Health a top priority. Durbin introduced the American Cures Act earlier this year, legislation he introduced earlier this year to support the future of research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Department of Defense Health Program (DHP), and the Veterans Medical & Prosthetics Research Program. Durbin first introduced this legislation – which is endorsed by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – during the previous Congress last year.
