Future of Fire Dept. Highlighted By Commissioner Candidates

The two men seeking the City's Commissioner of Public Health and Safety both agree a new fire station is a need in the City of Clinton, but how do they feel about the specifics of the new station?

Incumbent Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, Jerry Milton says the equipment the station currently has is barely adaquete for their current facility. He points out they already have a diagram for a new fire station but notes they need to make sure they can afford one first.

Milton adds their trucks may be getting older but they are in excellent shape thanks to their diligent upkeep.

For challenger Danny Ballenger, his work on the DeWitt County Board may give him an inside scoop for a new firehouse. He explains they are in the midst of a disaster action plan that would help fund a new firestation in Clinton.
