Peterson indicates the fishing program in Illinois has been around for seven years now and Clinton High School has enjoyed a great deal of success. He notes they only participate in a handful of events but they have won their sectionals two of the six years of the program's existence.

Reeves and Leach took first place with six fish weighing 19 pounds and three ounces.

Fourth place went to Dakota McMillen and Jacob Forbes of Cerro Gordo High School. Their six fish totaled ten pounds and five ounces.

Peterson says once the kids return from Spring Break, they will begin their preparation for Sectionals in May. He says they have eight students on the team.
