Oklahoma running back Keith Ford has been suspended indefinitely for violating academic and team rules, Sooners coach Bob Stoops confirmed Monday.

Ford rushed for 392 yards and five touchdowns on 71 carries as a sophomore last season and caught 11 passes for 140 yards and a score. He appeared in eight of 13 games, making starts against Tulsa, Tennessee and Kansas.

He has rushed for 526 yards and six touchdowns in 18 total games for Oklahoma.
