May Days Kicks Off This Evening

May Days are here for the Clinton community and there are many events planned for the whole family.

The festival will see the usual carnival rides and vendors this year but there will also be some changes and new features. Marian Brisard, Executive Director of the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, says there will be a flag ceremony this evening to mark the opening of May Days.

Despite a few changes this year, Brisard notes there will be something to enjoy every evening of May Days. Each night there will be live music on the downtown Clinton Square. And new this year, there will also be laser tag and various games sponsored by the Terror on Washington Street Haunted House.

Brisard is thankful the stage on the square is back and operational this year as they are set to host local community bands. She adds last year's winter weather stalled the construction, which delayed the completion of the stage in time for May Days.

May Days begins this evening and will continue through Sunday afternoon. Brisard is hoping for not only continued support from the Clinton community, but they have made it a point of emphasis to reach out to surrounding communities as well.
