Rauner Says Feverishly Working For Solutions

Illinois’ political leaders are feverishly trying to find a workable solution to the state’s growing crises. That’s according to Republican Governor Bruce Rauner. However, some people are ready for working groups to come out into the open. Illinois News Network has more:

House Speaker Michael Madigan issued a statement Thursday that he’s working to bring closed-door meetings into the open and has called for debate and a vote next week on civil justice reforms. Madigan previously held Committees of the Whole on workers’ comp and tort reforms and also called for a vote on a measure Democrats said was the equivalent of the Governor’s employee empowerment zones. That amendment failed in the House Thursday.
