The National Football League's dullest play underwent significant changes on Tuesday at the owners meetings.

The owners approved the competition committe's proposal to have the extra point snap moved back to the 15-yard line. The two-point conversion attempt will remain at the 2.

The line of scrimmage for the PAT was previously at the 2-yard line.

The vote was 30-2, with the Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders the only teams who voted no. The rule will be reviewed after one year.

Twenty six of the 32 NFL franchises didn't miss an extra point last season. Teams went 163-of-171 (95.3 percent) on field goals between 30-35 yards in 2015.

The league experimented with the extra point from the 15-yard line during last year's preseason.

Defenses, who weren't allowed to score points on extra points before, can now tally two points if they return a blocked kick, interception or fumble. This rule is already part of the college game.
