Clinton Schools Name Maintenance Director

width=The Clinton School District has ended a search that was looked into a great deal in recent months.

According to Dr. Jeff Holmes, Superintendent of Clinton Schools, the Board of Education has approved the hiring of Ryan Black for the position of Facility Manager. Dr. Holmes explains this was an important position to fill because they were seeking someone with a special skill set that could save the district money on their maintenance costs.

The district spent a lot of time seeking out a person for the job and according to Dr. Holmes, he felt they had excellent candidates apply for the position. He was encouraged that many applicants were Clinton-natives and he hopes to see some of those applicants be people they hire for other positions in the future.

While the district was able to fill a major position of need, Dr. Holmes says they now face a few challenges hiring a couple teachers for classes that are very popular. He explains they are in need of a high school Spanish teacher and a Jr. High family consumer science position.

If the district cannot find a Spanish teacher, Dr. Holmes indicates next year's freshman may not be able to take Spanish at all. He also credits their current family consumer science teacher, Emily Cleary, with building that program up in the junior high.

Dr. Holmes says the staff in place otherwise is very strong. He credits his high school and Jr. High principals with finding good staff and working well with them.
