Cole Ritter Named To County Board

width=A vacant spot on the County Board was filled Thursday night at the DeWitt County Board meeting.

Cole Ritter was nominated to fill the spot vacated by Dan Ballenger, who resigned the Board to take a seat at the Clinton City Council. Ritter hopes to continue to maintain the current state of the Board and feels things are going in a positive direction now.

Ritter will become the youngest County Board member to serve on the DeWitt County Board. He feels it something that is special because not many young people are pursuing local government.

Ritter sought a seat on the County Board four years ago, and was unsuccessful in his bid on the Board, however, he says he learned a lot from the experience.

The appointment for Ritter to the County Board was made by the DeWitt County Republican Central Committee. President Dustin Peterson says Ritter has always been involved in the things they do and feels he is ready to be on the Board.
