Clinton Elementary 3rd Grade Teacher Receives 'Teacher of the Year' Award

A Clinton Elementary School teacher recently received 'Teacher of the Year' award for the 2014-15 school year.

According to Clinton Elementary Principal Mary Diener, Trisha Bostic was named Teacher of the Year for the annual district-wide award at their Annual Spring Tea. Diener says Bostic is a third grade teacher that shows a lot of enthusiasm and is very involved in the school.

Assistant Principal Dawn Timmerman says there's never a dull moment in Bostic's clasroom.

The 'Teacher of the Year' award at the annual Spring Tea is voted on by fellow teachers in the district. Diener says the organizers of the event do a great job of keeping the award recipient a secret but allowing their families to witness them receiving the award.

Other nominees for Teacher of the Year honors were Tanya Donelson of Clinton Elementary School, Renee Henne of Clinton Junior High School, Phyllis Marquis of Clinton High School and Kisha Maurer of Clinton Junior High School.

Also honored at the annual Spring Tea were the Clinton Education Association Scholarship Recipients. They included Rebecca Anderson, Rachel Borland, Michaela Elliot, Christopher Jorgenson, Alexis Obenmeyer, Kaelen Smith, Megan Tool, Sarah Williams, Payton Bieber, Stephanie Broden, Reann Huffman, Noah McClurg, Megan Pister, Nolan Snyder, Jacey Wickenshauser, and Sarah Willoughby.

Teachers with 20 years of service were recognized. Tom Ballenger, Diana Holl, Theresa Smith, and Debbie Underwood were recognized. Sherry Chapman, Glenda Kaufman, Laura Puente and Teri Shaefer were recognized for 25 years of service and Julie Baldwin, Stevew Cors, and April Martens were recognized for 30 years of service in the district.
