New DJWH Board President Says Management Firm Isn't Priority Right Now

width=The latest President of the Dr. John Warner Hospital Board says the subject of a management firm isn't a top priority at the moment for him.

Aaron Kammeyer earlier this month was named the new President of the city-owned hospital board and he says right now, he's focused on other things than whether to bring on a management firm. He wants to get his feet wet as president and begin to learn the issues facing the hospital.

In his time previously on the DJWH Board, Kammeyer and his peers were a part of a strategic plan update and he indicates interim CEO, Paul Skowron has looked at the strategic plan and feels there are lots of ideas that can still be applicable for the hospital after a few years of its development.

Kammeyer previously served on the Board and says his short stint was an eye-opening and learning experience. he says a lot of the projects the previous Board worked on have come to fruition since that time.

The new board has some familiar faces, but many, like Kammeyer, have been off the board for a short period of time. He feels despite the absense, the working relationships they developed should carry over to this term.

Kammeyer asked his fellow Board members to meet with Skowron to get an idea of where the hospital is at financially, from a moral stand point and to find out what Skowron has in mind for the city-owned facility going forward.
