Democrats, Republicans At Odds Over Budget

Leaders from both chambers and parties said Sunday they plan on working with each other to find solutions to Illinois budget crisis but they differ on what the solutions should be.

Either way, a budget passed by Democrats that doesn’t have enough revenue to cover the bills is headed to the Governor’s desk. It’s not expected to not get very far as Governor Bruce Rauner has said he will veto an unbalanced budget.

Without a balanced budget by Sunday’s deadline, negotiations on solutions to Illinois budget crisis are expected to continue into the summer.
