Air traffic between Springfield and Chicago is going to be cut. But if you’re not a high ranking state official or lucky state employee you will never notice.

Governor Bruce Rauner is grounding the state’s fleet of aircraft to save $3 million in the upcoming fiscal year. Reports indicate found documents showing Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Comptroller Leslie Munger are frequent passengers.

The passenger list also includes Speaker Mike Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton.

Rank and file lawmakers are on the planes quite a bit, 3 Chicago area democrats rode the planes more than 10 times over the first four months of this year.
