Rising Illinois River Is Headache For Riverside Businesses

The Illinois River has a way of spoiling summer plans and that means a bad break for tourist driven businesses like those in Grafton.

The Great River Road is covered by floodwaters in parts of the Jersey County town but many businesses remain open, Raging Rivers, just south of Grafton, has lost a few dates to the soggy June weather but Connie Clark, Director of Group Sales, says they are open for business and visitors have proven willing to take a different route if needed to have some fun in the sun.

In another Grafton note, town leaders voted down a proposed ban on outdoor music at businesses with a liquor license.
