State Lawmakers Up For Raises; Rauner Says No

The state may not have a budget but some state workers are still in line for a raise. Governor Bruce Rauner however isn’t on board.

Wednesday, Rauner struck down a cost of living increase for lawmakers as they debate a new spending plan for the state. Rauner crossed out those raises with an amendatory veto.

Lawmakers and constitutional officers were all set to make more money starting today. The raises were going to between $1,400 and $1,900 a year.
