As county fairs throughout Illinois continue to struggle due to dwindling state reimbursements, one is hoping fresh ideas and new blood can result in a long term future.
The Mercer County Fair Board announced last week during fair week they are creating a Junior Fair Board featuring 16-to-22 year olds. The youth of today says Fair Board President Roger Grundstrom are needed to help continue county fairs.

Grundstrom hopes the Jr. Fair Board can be organized and meet by October.
