British Open Concludes Today

With three players tied for the third-round lead at St. Andrews, history could be made in Monday's final round at the Open Championship.

Among the three leaders is Irish amateur Paul Dunne. He is the first amateur atop the leaderboard after 54 holes since Bobby Jones in 1927.

width=Dunne, who is the 80th ranked amateur in the world, fired a 6-under 66 to end three rounds at 12-under-par 204. He was joined there by 2010 Open champion Louis Oosthuizen and Jason Day, who both shot 67 in round three.

Oosthuizen, who won his Open on the Old Course at St. Andrews, is looking to become the sixth player to win two Open Championships on the same course.

If that isn't enough, Jordan Spieth is one stroke off the lead after a third- round 66. The Masters and U.S. Open champion stands at 11-under-par 205. Spieth has a chance to join Ben Hogan as the only ones to win the season's first three majors.

Two-time Open Championship winner Padraig Harrington fired a 7-under 65 to jump into fifth place at minus-10. The Irishman has three majors to his name as he also won the 2008 PGA Championship.

Marc Leishman finished before second-round leader Dustin Johnson even teed off. Leishman had a birdie putt at the last to tie for the lead, but missed. However, he fired an 8-under 64, the low round of the day, to soar into a share of sixth place at 9-under-par 207.

Leishman shares sixth with former major champions Retief Goosen (69), Justin Rose (68), Adam Scott (70) and Zach Johnson (70) as well as Sergio Garcia (68), Robert Streb (70), amateur Jordan Niebrugge (67) and Danny Willett (72).

Dustin Johnson made just one birdie in the third round and bogeyed the final three holes for a 3-over 75. He fell into a tie for 18th at 7-under 209.
