Clinton area girls interested in playing softball competitively are encouraged to try out for a travel team that will enter it's second year of existence.
Jason Yost is the President of the Clinton Youth Softball Association and indicates after a popular team dissolved several years ago, he and many others are working to bring the travel concept back to Clinton.

According to Yost, the first year, which was this past season, they only put a 12 and under team not knowing what to expect. He explains they want to allow as many girls the opportunity to play as they can.

Yost believe giving the girls of Clinton this opportunity will translate to not only success in the future playing softball, but also in life.

This will be a round of tryouts for next summer's schedule. According to Yost, they will host a tryout this Thursday evening at 5 pm at the high school then again on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm also at the high school.
He says the girls will be hitting and fielding and there will be a separate tryout following each session for pitchers and catchers.
