The Washington Capitals signed restricted free agent goaltender Braden Holtby to a five-year contract Friday.
The deal is worth $30.5 million.
Holtby had a breakout 2014-15 season for Washington, leading the league in games played and saves. He set a career high in wins with 41 and posted a 2.22 goals-against average and .923 save percentage.
In 13 postseason games, he led the league with a 1.71 GAA and .944 save percentage when Washington was eliminated in the Eastern Conference semifinals by the Rangers.
For his career, the 25-year-old Holtby has played in 178 games with the Capitals, owning a 2.44 GAA and .921 save percentage.
Holtby previously filed for arbitration with an $8 million asking price. The Capitals offered $5.1 million in advance of the hearing.
