Legislation Creating Amber Alert System For Adults on Governor's Desk

The Amber Alert system has been successful in helping police with cases of missing children. Now Illinois lawmakers hope Governor Rauner agrees to bring a similar system to the state who help missing adults.

State Representative Avery Bourne (Republican-Litchfield) is among the sponsors.

Lawmakers say the dementia problem is growing and more and more frequently the children of dementia victims have moved to new areas to seek employment.
The Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association estimates more than 200,000 Illinois residents have Alzheimer's disease or related dementia and they estimate about a third of them will wander off at some point.
