Former Gov. Says Rauner NeedsTo Make Budget Top Priority

Governor Bruce Rauner is getting some unsolicited advice on the budget process from someone who went toe to toe with House Speaker Michael Madigan on a budget in tough fiscal times.

Former Governor Jim Edgar and Madigan were able to settle their differences in the early 90s, ending an extended budget stalemate. Edgar says Rauner needs to make a workable state budget his top priority, ahead of pushing through his turnaround agenda package of economic reforms.
