Warrensburg-Latham Schools Expanding Technology in Classroom

More and more school districts continue to implement the latest technologies into their classrooms despite the struggles from the state of Illinois.

Warrensburg-Latham schools are in year two of a three year roll out and according to Superintendent, Dr. Kristen Kendrick-Weikle, the first installment was a huge hit. She indicates each student at the high school level will have a Chromebook this year.

Dr. Kendrick-Weikle feels the use of technology during class allows quicker feedback between the teacher and student. Additionally, she indicates it creates more accountability as well.

Before class starts each day, students in each classroom know whether they will be using the Chromebooks and Dr. Kendrick-Weikle believes the administration and staff have come up procedures that do not make having the technology in the classroom a distraction.

Dr. Kendrick -Weikle says they are very excited about the expansion of technology in their schools. She says evaluation of its use is always ongoing and their staff is always continuing their learning about the technology and it's place in the classroom.
